Following large scale protests across the world, rallys are now planned for today in the heart of the U.K, London. Until now the largest demonstration was seen on New Yorks Wall Street earlier this week, however a Facebook page for the London protest has attracted more than 13,000 followers, with an approximate 5,000 attendees for the protest later today.
“Why are we paying for a crisis the banks caused? More than a million people have lost their jobs and tens of thousands of homes have been repossessed, while small businesses are struggling to survive.” – Laura Taylor of OccupyLSX
She continued: “Yet bankers continue to make billions in profit and pay themselves enormous bonuses, even after we bailed them out with £850 billion.”
Protests are being held worldwide in an attempt to fight back against corporate greed and government cutbacks affecting the quality of life by regular citizens. Additional protests are expected later today across Madrid, Rome and Athens.
